👨🏻‍💻 My work

💼 Current Roles

📍 Consultant in Data Science & Research (07/2024 – Present)

My expertise spans the entire data pipeline—designing ETL systems, conducting causal inference, and implementing machine learning models (including Generative AI solutions). Current services include:

  • End-to-end data science and AI development, including RAG pipelines and chatbot solutions
  • Research support (survey design, causal analysis, data visualization)
  • Tailored training and workshops in data science and programming fundamentals

I have partnered with NGOs, public agencies, think tanks, and private firms to offer data-driven solutions. If you think I can help you in any way, please reach out at felipe.lamarca@hotmail.com.

Feel free to explore my open-source projects here or on my GitHub profile.

📍 Data Scientist & Researcher @ Instituto Rio21 (04/2022 – Present)

I conduct quantitative research (such as opinion polls and social surveys), focusing on data collection, analysis, and visualization. I have participated in projects like the Municipal Management Assessment Survey and Election Polls, while collaborating with Aliança CentroRio to transform citywide conservation and security data into actionable intelligence.

On a day-to-day basis, I use Python and R to build statistical analyses, interactive maps, and dashboards. I also automate post-stratification processes for survey data and develop geoprocessing solutions for mapping projects.

📍 Data Science Consultant @ Study Group on New Illegalisms (GENI/UFF) (01/2025 – Present)

I build custom tools for data extraction and analysis, particularly those leveraging large language models. This includes creating Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines and solutions to automatically format unstructured data.

📍 Research Assistant @ FGV EBAPE (02/2025 – Present)

I am part of a project to systematize databases for election results from the 1970s, using OCR and large language models to digitize and format historical documents. I work under the supervision of Prof. Cesar Zucco, Ph.D.

📁 Past Work

📍 Data Science Consultant @ Brazilian Center for Analysis and Planning (CEBRAP) (10/2024 – 02/2025)

I provided technical data analysis services—ranging from OCR techniques to language model applications—for the Center for Critical Imagination project under José Szwako, Ph.D.

📍 Data Science Intern @ Strategic Planning Superintendence, FGV (10/2024 – 12/2024)

I integrated advanced Generative AI techniques into institutional data pipelines, identifying opportunities for automation and process improvement. I also prepared presentations for C-level executives, including the President of FGV.

📍 Part-time Data Scientist @ Visagio (01/2024 – 06/2024)

I worked on optimization, pricing, A/B testing, and data pipeline automation with SQL. I developed Power BI dashboards and presented KPI-driven insights to senior management.

📍 Student Consultant @ Brazilian Sailing Confederation (08/2023 – 12/2023)

I collaborated with colleagues to develop a ranking model for Brazilian sailors, integrating web scraping and machine learning to analyze regatta performance.

📍 Junior Research Fellow @ FGV CPDOC (06/2019 – 09/2022)

Supported by an FGV/CNPq scholarship under the supervision of Prof. Jaqueline Porto Zulini, Ph.D., I examined Executive-Legislative relations in the early 20th century, applying both qualitative methods and introductory quantitative text analysis.
